Precautions in in-bin drying
The following is a summary of the points to which attention needs to be paid in in-bin drying.
In order to preserve the quality of the grain in in-bin drying, it is important to make the air flow rate large and to reduce the moisture content as quickly as possible. However, from the point of view of lowering the drying cost, it is desirable to keep the air flow rate as small as possible.
When the air flow rate is decreased close attention must be paid to the possibility that drying will not progress in at least part of the rice, and particularly at high temperature, mold will grow.
