Rice Milling Machines

There are two types of rice milling machines that physically convert brown rice to milled rice: pressure (friction) mill
and velocity (abrasive) mill. The former type requires a friction force that constantly applies to a certain level of
pressure to the rice grains. The latter requires selection of the abrasive roll of energy particle size and a roll rpm
(peripheral speed that is kept at or above a certain level. Then the impact between the roll and the rice grains
produces a cutting effect. Looked at from the point of view of grain shape, in general a friction mill is suitable for
short rice, while with long rice the pressure between rice grains tends to break them, so the abrasive mill is better.
