The majority of plants grow, flower, and fruit, and finally make seeds and then end their lives. The seeds (grains) of gramineous plants are called “caryopsis”, and they consist of embryos and endosperms.
Flowers, called as spikelets, of rice plants are born on the primary and secondary rachis branches of the panicle.
Each spikelet is a bisexual flower possessing both stamen and pistil in the double glumes called lemma and palea. Pollination is performed between the stamen and pistil of the same flower of rice plants.
