Large-Scale Grain Drying Facility in Japan
Grain Dryer: 30t x 8 units
Wheat: 170 ha
Corn: 108 ha
This case study features one of Japan’s largest grain drying facilities, designed to handle large-scale post-harvest operations for grain corn and wheat.
The facility processes crops cultivated on 108 ha of corn and 170 ha of wheat, requiring stable, high-throughput drying performance during peak harvest periods
As cultivated areas expanded and harvesting operations became increasingly concentrated within short timeframes, the operator faced challenges in processing large volumes of grain efficiently.
Existing equipment lacked the capacity and operational flexibility needed to manage peak inflows, leading to bottlenecks and increased labor demands. A robust, high-capacity drying solution was therefore essential.
To meet these demands, the facility installed 8 units of 30t grain dryers, providing a total capacity of 240t.
The system enables continuous, stable drying of both grain corn and wheat while maintaining precise control of temperature and airflow. This ensures consistent moisture reduction and uniform product quality, even under heavy workloads.
Following the installation, the facility achieved:
・Significantly increased processing capacity during peak harvest seasons
・Reduced waiting times and smoother grain intake operations
・Improved labor efficiency through streamlined operation and control
・More uniform drying quality, contributing to better storage stability and product value
Overall, the facility has established a reliable drying operation capable of supporting large-scale grain production.
Yamamoto was chosen based on its:
・Extensive experience and proven track record in large-scale grain drying systems
・High reliability and durability suitable for continuous, high-volume operation
・Engineering expertise and technical support covering planning, installation, and operation
The robust design philosophy developed for international markets has proven highly effective in this domestic large-scale facility.
Looking ahead, the operator aims to further enhance operational efficiency and energy performance while maintaining stable, high-quality grain processing.
As a core post-harvest facility supporting regional grain production, the site will continue to evolve, with Yamamoto remaining a trusted partner in delivering advanced drying technology and long-term operational support.
